Operation M.A.D (Making a Difference)
Operation M.A.D will be a life-changing initiative for participants who will be given the opportunity to make at least two visits to a local soup kitchen. The idea is to create greater awareness of poverty in our local community. Participants in this project will be members of the school's social justice M.A.D club.

Our Social Justice Club met once per week. Throughout the year, we discussed many issues - Poverty and Hunger, Homelessness, Human Rights, Food Waste and Food Insecurity, Girls Rights, Indigenous Rights, Autism Awareness etc.
We engaged with the global community by packing care package as part of Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. We also took part in The Compassion Experience (an immersive experience that allows visitors to experience other cultures and the realities of global poverty. This is run by Compassion International. See link for more information.

Locally, we organized a successful Fall Food Drive. All items were donated to a local Food Bank.
Although we were not able to visit the Knight Table Food Bank as planned, we were able to donate the funding allocation of $300 that we received from the CTF to the organization. Overall, our club's aim of raising awareness about numerous social justice issues among our members as well as around the school community was achieved.
