Canada’s Residential Schools: The Legacy (2015) is the final volume from the (TRC) and describes what Canadians must do to overcome the enduring and destructive legacy of Canada’s Residential Schools in a move towards reconciliation with the country’s first peoples. This volume examines the ramifications of residential schooling experienced by Aboriginal Canadians: poverty, poor health, increased mortality rates, and higher rates of imprisonment. In addition, the cultural impacts have resulted in the loss of many Indigenous languages and the damage to cultural traditions.
